Electrolytes: stay hydrated during exercise
When you sweat, you lose water but also minerals: sodium, potassium, magnesium and chloride. On a long ride, a match in hot weather or an intense session, drinking plain water does not make up for these losses. Electrolyte tablets and powders dissolve in your bottle for a light drink, often sugar-free.
Effervescent tablets are the easiest to carry: Science in Sport Go Hydro (also with caffeine), PowerBar 5 Electrolytes and Applied Nutrition Endurance Hydration Electrolyte Tabs. As powders, you will find Optimum Nutrition Electrolyte Powder, Applied Nutrition Hydration+ and PowerBar Electrolyte Drink, which also provides carbohydrates for energy. Magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
For an everyday drink, see also our rehydration range (Bolero, Inlead, More); for long efforts, our isotonic drinks. Caffeinated versions are not recommended for children or pregnant women: take your other sources of caffeine that day into account. We deliver all over Luxembourg, shipped within 24 h.
Frequently asked questions
When should I take electrolytes?
During or after exercise lasting more than an hour, in hot weather or if you sweat a lot. For a short session, water is usually enough.
Electrolytes or isotonic drink?
Electrolytes mainly replace lost minerals, with few or no calories. An isotonic drink also provides carbohydrates for energy during long efforts.
How many tablets a day?
Follow the dose on the pack, usually one tablet per 500 ml bottle. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
